Inner hull planking complete up
to, and including, the lower gun deck. Outer hull planking 95% complete up
to the upper gun deck. Top surfaces of all decks and planking in holds is
finished with tung oil for natural wood finish and appearance. Hull planking
on Orlop and Gun decks painted white (old white) as are the lower surfaces
of the decks from the lower gun deck and higher. The outer hull of the kit
is not coppered, but is painted in copper. The Trafalgar paint scheme will
be applied to the cross section. |

A close up view of the companion
ways leading from the lower gun deck down to the orlop deck. Once all decks
are in place then the faces of the cross section will be trimmed/sanded
smooth to ensure all planking ends flush with the "frames" for a neat, clean
appearance. The faces will be stained to a darker color so as to be less
prevalent when viewing the model. |
